https://www.fulhamsw6.com/#!pages/shared:common:hamflyunder014 The redevelopment of the area around the Town Hall is nearing completion, so I suppose it was not surprising that the idea of the Tunnel has been dug out again. It failed last time for 3 reasons: (1) cost — £800M is very optimistic and (2) the railways coming into Hammersmith Tube Station are very deep and dictate the depth of the Tunnel (3) access roads to get into and out of the Tunnel. Where are they going to go? These problems are still insurmountable with present levels of traffic. The traffic might reduce in future, but I would not bet on it.
